This section of the website is where you can find info about All Star Events. This will include parties, special classes, intensives etc.
Info
I'm going to cut to the chase. Most events cost money. Typically, groups or group leaders will pay out of pocket for events. This adds a LOT of stress/pressure on event organizers, promoters, venue owners to ensure that their money is recouped. Often times, an event will break even, but many times they don't.
RPM All Stars does it differently. Instead of throwing things on the wall and seeing what sticks, we'll take a more proactive approach and vote with our dollars.
On the right (or below), you'll see a list of proposed events. Once the event is funded, it will trigger the planning and implementing the event. This crowdfunding approach will give us a clear picture of interest, will eliminate a lot of the stress of planning and funding the event, and the automation-ability of this system will help ensure sustainability.
Funding an Event
Funding an event is easier than ordering a pizza. Just find the event you want to fund on the right (or below), click through to pay however much you want, and that's it. By contributing to an event, you are essentially voting for that event to happen faster. Paying a little extra helps enable those who are less fortunate, while reducing the wait time for that event. In most cases, all ALL Stars who contribute to an event will be able to attend. Regardless of the actual amount they donated. Those who pay more will also get perks such as free food or snacks (typically overages will go towards paying for those extra perks).
There are some events that will be limited to a certain number of participants. Anyone can contribute to these events, but only the top donators will be able to participate. For example, if there was an intensive being proposed and it had a limit of 20 people, the top 20 donators will get a spot in the class. This means that those with a generous heart, can contribute some $ to the cause, and help out those who can't afford it.
Triggering an Event
What does triggering an event mean? Once enough contributions have been made to fund an event, we will pull the trigger. An announcement will go out alerting everyone that the event planning for that event has begun. As soon as the date for the event is determined, the event will be visible in the calendar and you can RSVP.
