Intensive
Rope Intensive Flier - Master Pocketz and Fay 2

Fay

Hello, everyone! Let me properly introduce ourselves. I'm Fay, and together with my incredible husband Pocketz, known as the rope wizard, we are the co founders of the Shibari Healing Collective.  Muganawa, the art of egoless rope bondage, became our guiding light, empowering individuals on their personal journeys. Within our safe spaces, removing our personal desires, people can explore the art of shibari, harmonizing it with yoga, Thai bodywork, Buddhist philosophies, and more.

Master Pocketz

Drawing inspiration from Buddhist philosophy, we approach Shibari with deep respect and mindfulness. We believe in the power of intentional connection and its ability to create profound experiences. Our collective offers the Embodiment thru BDSM, which empowers individuals to reconnect their mind and body within the realm of BDSM. Designed for those with adverse experiences, it offers tools for healing and reclaiming agency. Join us for personal growth and a positive BDSM journey.

This event is paid for. Your donation goes towards tipping our presenters for their efforts and making them more comfortable during their stay. We (RPM) paid for their flights already. We pay for their room & board, but are they staying in our guest room, or in a nice Airbnb? We pay for food, but are they eating PB&J or Mediterranean? They agreed to come and teach for free! Typically when big name presenters are flown in, they charge $2,000 to teach on top of flights, R&B, etc. Let's show our presenters some love and support!

Donation based event!
You may donate even if you do not plan to attend. Why would anyone do that? Think of it like GoFundMe or other Crowd Sourcing platforms. Your dollar is your vote for what new knowledge and exciting people come to town and become a part of our local knowledge bank. By donating to intensives you make events like this one accessible to all Kinksters and helps spread new and better rope knowledge. If you are ready to see new techniques and new ideas, consider supporting!

The Quadrant Method: Understanding Frictions in Shibari

In my exploration of shibari and the intricacies of frictions, I have developed an approach called the Quadrant Method. This method offers a unique perspective on how frictions, whether knots or hitches, are created in shibari. It emphasizes the importance of recognizing the underlying principles and patterns that guide the creation of these frictions.

At the core of the Quadrant Method is the concept of an intersecting line, which forms the basis of all frictions. This line divides the space into four distinct quadrants, each representing a different aspect of the friction. By understanding and navigating these quadrants, practitioners can effectively achieve the desired friction at the center.

By exploring these purposes and understanding the unique qualities of each friction, practitioners can gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics at play in shibari and the frictions they create.

By utilizing the Quadrant Method, practitioners can approach frictions in shibari with a comprehensive understanding of the underlying principles and patterns. This method encourages exploration, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the artistry and functionality of frictions in shibari.

Through my teachings, I aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools to navigate the intricacies of frictions, encouraging them to explore their unique expressions within the realm of shibari. The Quadrant Method serves as a framework for understanding and creating frictions, fostering growth, innovation, and a deeper connection to the art form.

Muganawa

In the context of shibari, Muganawa is a concept that goes beyond the physical act of tying and delves into the deeper essence of the practice. Muganawa can be translated as "infinite rope" or "rope without desire." It represents a philosophical approach to shibari that emphasizes the detachment of one's desires and intentions when engaging in rope bondage.

Muganawa encourages practitioners to let go of ego-driven motivations and to approach the art of shibari with a sense of selflessness and mindfulness. It involves cultivating a state of presence and awareness while tying, allowing the rope to guide the experience rather than trying to impose personal desires or expectations onto it.

Practicing Muganawa requires a deep understanding of consent, empathy, and the needs of the person being tied. It emphasizes the importance of active listening, observation, and intuition to create a safe and transformative experience for both the rigger and the person being tied.

By adopting the principles of Muganawa, practitioners aim to create an environment of trust, vulnerability, and connection. The focus shifts from the technical aspects of tying to the emotional, energetic, and spiritual dynamics that unfold during the session. Muganawa encourages a deep exploration of the mind-body connection, fostering a sense of unity, harmony, and liberation for both the rigger and the person being tied.

In essence, Muganawa represents a mindful and selfless approach to shibari, where the practice becomes a channel for deep connection, self-exploration, and personal growth. It invites practitioners to surrender to the experience, embracing the infinite possibilities that unfold when ego and desire are set aside, and the rope becomes a tool for transcendence and profound connection.
